Silwan, Jerusalem (SILWANIC) —
Clashes erupted in Wadi Hilweh today when Israeli forces shut down a local street to ensure Israeli settlers a “safe passage” to a block of land appropriated several years ago.
The street was cordoned off as Palestinian residents were coming home and preparing to break their fast for the day at the height of a summer Ramadan.
The settlers amassed close to the City of David settlement, while Israeli forces threatened Palestinians that they would face arrest if they did not disperse following confrontations.
