A large number of Israeli police forces and special forces supported the Jerusalem Municipality staff and bulldozers in surrounding the village of Silwan and Al-Thori neighborhood. They demolished a parking garage owned by Kamal Shweiki and an aluminum animal housing owned by Maher Ramadan Syam in Al-Abbasyah district in the village of Silwan and confiscated horses. As a new tactic, Jerusalem Municipality brought a big truck and took the aluminum in order to sell it as junk.

In the beginning, large numbers of police and special forces  gathered around the “Al-Teyalate” in  Jabal Al-Mokaber, then moved to Al-Thori neighborhood, demolished  a garage owned by the citizen Kamal Shweiki hastily. After that, they surrounded Al-Abbasyah district in Silwan and without any warning, the municipality bulldozers approached to aluminum housings belonging to the citizen Maher Syam, confiscated horses, and scattered the rest of the animals, such as poultry and goats.  In an interview with Silwanic site, Maher Syam, 39 years, said, “We haven’t received neither a notification nor a warning, they confiscated horses! As for the aluminum, they gave it to a truck driver who they brought to confiscate it and sell it as a junk.”

One of the citizens asked “If they’re concerned about organizing, did they consider repairing roads and the education system first?”

However, Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, had requested not to implement the demolition orders in the current time.  In a statement of Wadi Hilweh, Silwan’s committee said, “This campaign is demonstrating an operation and a policy of the mayor of Jerusalem municipality in front of his own radical right-wing party and the settlers who are pushing the municipality to displace Jerusalem Palestinian residents.”
