The arrest of former prisoner Kifah Sarhan
Tuesday, July 23, 2013 | 20:14
Silwan, Jerusalem (SILWANIC) —

The Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families’ committee said on Monday that the Israeli forces recently arrested the former prisoner Kifah Sarhan after only six days of releasing him due to lack of compliance with the terms of house arrest.

The committee explained that the Israeli forces arrested Sarhan from the location of his house arrest in Kufor Manda, and he was taken to Al-Maskobyeh in west Jerusalem and was then presented to the Magistrate court where the judge decided to re-arrest him and cancel the house arrest claiming that he did not commit to the conditions of his release as he had visited several neighbours; the Supreme court ratified the decision.

Kifah was released on the 9th of July 2013 after spending 21 months inside the occupation’s prisons without a trial which he is still waiting for on charges of involvement in activities within the framework of the Hamas movement in the occupied Jerusalem. Kifah is married and has five children where his youngest daughter was born while he was in prison and he is a resident of Silwan.
