Sentencing a child�.extension of arrest for five Jerusalemites�and the conditional release of three others

Silwan, Jerusalem (SILWANIC) —

The Israeli Magistrate court sentenced on Tuesday the 15-year old Obaida Amer Iseed for five months of actual imprisonment and a suspended probation of four months for two years, in addition to paying a bail of one thousand NIS.

Lawyer of Prisoners Club, Mufeed Alhaj, said the public prosecution accused Obaida of participating in Al-Aqsa Mosque incidents on the 13th of February 2013 and arrested him for 10 days in Al-Maskobyeh; he was then released on condition of house arrest and was rearrested 59 days ago.

Lawyer Alhaj added that the prosecution accused him of violating the house arrest on 6/6/2012 and throwing stones and a Molotov on a settlement outpost near his house in the old city of Jerusalem. The court ruled to postpone consideration of the case until next November to hear witnesses.

Conditional release of two young men from Al-Sowaneh

Meanwhile, the court released 19-year old Ahmad Alami and 18-year old Amir Qadamani from the neighborhood of Al-Sowaneh in Jerusalem with a bail and on condition of house arrest. The District court imposed house arrest on Amir Qadamani and a bail of 5 thousand NIS and imposed house arrest on Ahmad Alami at his uncles house and a bail of 10 thousand NIS. Amir was arrested on 18/06/2013 and Ahmad on 25/06/2013 on charges of assaulting settlers.

The Magistrate court also released the minor Mohammad Al-Razem from the old city on condition of house arrest and imposed a bail of 1500 NIS on him.

Mufeed Alhaj said that the Magistrate court decided to release 16-year old Islam Sabbah with the same conditions that it imposed on Al-Razem, but the prosecution appealed the decision in the District court and the judge decided to send his file to the Magistrate court one more time to consider releasing him again. Razem was arrested on 20/07/2013 on charges if throwing stones in Damascus Gate in Jerusalem.

Alhaj added that the Magistrate court extended the arrest of Rami Hani Taha until 08/08/2013 when the conducts officer releases his report, knowing that he was arrested on the 20th of the current month.

Alhaj also explained that the Magistrate court judge refused to release 3 young men from Jerusalem on Tuesday claiming that they had attacked police officer while being arrested and extended their arrest to the 1st of August, 2013 knowing that they were arrested on the 18th of July 2013. They are: Mustafa Bassam Jaradat 19 from Wadi Al-Joz and the two brothers Qusai and Issa Mohammad Khalil; they were charged of throwing stones in Damascus Gate.
