The Israeli forces arrested two young Jerusalemites and injured several others with bruises after they suppressed a peaceful march to protest against Prawer Plan which aims at confiscating hundreds of thousands of denims from the Negev lands and will displace tens of thousands of residents from their villages.
The peaceful march launched from Damascus Gate towards Sultan Suleiman Street and Salah Eddin Street. When the march approached the American Consulate, the Calvary unit suppressed the participants and followed them to Salah Eddin Street to prevent them from going back to Damascus Gate. Meanwhile, another march launched from Nablus Street towards Damascus Gate where clashes broke out and the Israeli forces fired sounds bombs towards the young men and the Calvary unit suppressed them; the young men responded by throwing stones and empty bottles towards the forces.
The participants raised the Palestinian flags and chanted against Prawer Plan stressing the unity and determination of the case.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Israeli forces arrested 23-year old Mohammad Hamad who is a freed prisoner and assaulted and severely beat him before and during the arrest; he was also assaulted while being handcuffed in the police car. Another young man was arrested from Nablus Street in addition to the arrest of another from Damascus Gate.
The Knesset approved the reading racist Prawer Plan and passed it with a 43-40 vote, which threatens to destroy dozens of unrecognized villages in the Negev and displacing tens of thousands of Bedouins from their villages and the confiscation of about 800,000 denims of their lands.
